LAWMAC Chair (2000-2008) David Egan - Winner of the Inaugural "Rossko Award" in 2006 receives his award plus congratulations from Lorraine & Amber Overton, wife and daughter of the late Johnstone Shire Mayor Ross Overton.

Ross Kenneth ('Rossko') Overton (1950-2006) was the architect and founding Chair of the Local Authority Waste Management Action Committee.
It was in 1993 during his third term as Mayor that Ross brought together a number of leading players in local government waste management to form a cooperative body dealing with waste management problems on a regional basis. This meeting led directly to the formation of the organisation which is now known as LAWMAC.
Sadly, Ross succumbed to ill-health on 6 March 2006 but the memory of his achievements will endure throughout the Queensland region long after his passing.
To maintain Ross Overton's legacy and to honour his memory across regional Queensland, LAWMAC has established the annual "Rossko Award" for leadership, innovation and dedication in the field of waste management in the Local Government areas of Regional Queensland.
